Executive Director and Co-founder
Amy worked in the construction for 14-years before receiving a degree in Energy Systems Engineering from Oregon State University in 2015. She moved to Bend in 1996 and has seen first hand the change in our housing needs. She has a passion for equity in housing, sustainable building and design, as well as energy efficiency, and is excited to bring that to her work with Kôr. Amy is the treasurer of Northwest Community Land Trust Coalition and a volunteer court appointed special advocate with CASA of Central Oregon.
Amy believes that sustainability and attainable housing should go hand-in-hand. She is most happy either working or being outdoors. When not working for Kôr, she enjoys hiking, backpacking, camping, biking, yoga, travel, good wine and food, and friends to share these with.
Laurie brings more than 20 years of development experience to Kôr in areas ranging from donor relations to grant funding to agency partnerships. At the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she served as Executive Director of the Student Affairs Grants and Development department, she successfully funded significant, multi-year projects with emphasis on efforts designed to build diversity, equity, and inclusion. After retiring from UCSB, she moved with her husband to Bend in 2013. Realizing she was not yet ready for retirement, and eager for greater connection to and engagement with the Bend community, she turned to work with small, non-profit organizations that are poised for growth.
She is thrilled to be the Development Director for Kôr and would, of course, be happy to talk with any of you about how you might support the organization’s operations and on-the-ground projects. When not raising funds for Kôr, she loves traveling, getting together with family and friends over food and drink, and showing the best of Bend to pretty much all who are interested!
