Kôr was founded in 2015 to address the need for attainable homeownership in Bend, Oregon. Many hard-working members of our community cannot afford to purchase a home and put down roots here. The Bend area benefits greatly from a diverse workforce; including citizens who work in our schools, grocery stores, in public service roles, in medical facilities, and restaurants – just to name a few. Kôr provides permanently affordable homeownership opportunities for these important community members and their families.
Not only will the housing Kôr provides be attainable to low and middle-income households, but will also help preserve Bend’s beautiful natural environment. Kôr’s homes will be built to minimize energy and water use. This is sustainable from both an environmental perspective AND a financial one by keeping utility bills low for the homeowner.
Kôr was co-founded by Amy Warren and Jason Offutt. It is run by a ten-member board of directors. Amy is the executive director of Kôr and a graduate of OSU Cascade’s Energy Systems Engineering degree program. Jason owns Shelter Studio, Inc. in Bend where he designs sustainable and net-zero energy homes.
Kôr is working hard to make a difference in the Bend community. Join us!
